Good Free App of the Day: Model Me Going Places 2 (social stories for autism!)

Model3

(Also check out our list of Free and Reduced Apps for May 6th!)

Parents and teachers of children with autism know how helpful social stories can be to get through the day. The best social stories are personalized, of course, but sometimes a short cut for common situations is just what is needed.

And Model Me Going Places 2 is a FREE app with modeling for SIX!! different locations. Before going to the doctor (or mall, or a restaurant…) load up this app and watch the little boy go through his exam with a smile on his face. It's a must-download for parents, therapists, and teachers of children with autism! (Ages 2-8)

If you want to get this great modeling for FREE (iPhone/iPad), please support Smart Apps For Kids and use this easy download button:

Model2Model Me Going Places 2 uses full color photographs, a child's clear voice, and some cheery music. The phrasing is very clear in this app, with positive phrases like, "I stay calm" and "I listen to the doctor" to describe the desired behavior.

This app would have been a huge help to me when my son was young. It is based on the video curriculum from Model Me Kids! DVD by the same name, for ages 2-8.

It's free, so download it today and try it out!
